Bangkok Trip Day 1

Today, I'm posting my Bangkok trip with ys almost two years back. We went Bangkok on 12 Oct 2011 after his POP. Time really flies. We did enjoy this Bangkok trip, exploring around, hunting for food and relaxing.
We reached Changi Airport to check in and had our breakfast at KFC. Finally, I had gotten the chance to try KFC breakfast since it launched few months back in 2011.

After 2h plus, we saw land. Few more minutes, we would be in Bangkok and shouted, "Hello, Thailand. We are here!"
We reached Suvarnabhumi Airport and took cab to Citin Pratunam Hotel at Pratunam. Get the best quote from the cab driver to save cost. So sorry that I didn't take any pictures of the hotel and the room but it was really a nice and affordable hotel. This hotel introduced by his brother. It is a 4-star hotel and only $45 per night. We booked through Agoda. Click here to view more on the hotel room pictures - Citin Pratunam Hotel Bangkok. The facilities are really fantastic and the employees are so friendly and polite. Best is that it is located at the heart of Pratunam and really so convenient to travel around. We saved most of our transport fee because of that too. After we checked in and loaded our stuffed, we took Tutu ride to Mabukong Shopping Centre (MBK) for early dinner. It was raining that day too. At that time, most part of Bangkok were flooded but not the heart of Bangkok yet. Hence, some of the places we didn't manage to go.

There was night market beside Mabukong Shopping Centre (MBK). Out of curiosity, we went in to take a look. It was quite early and wasn't any crowds yet.

Some of the local delicacies...
Big prawns!
Hot dogs...

Warning: Below pictures will be disturbing if you don't like bugs.

I only took pictures of you and after that, I felt like vomiting. I'm apologized. This is one of the Thai local delicacies and they have very high nutrients in it. If you dare to try, please try and tell me how does it taste like. (●__●)

Then, we had dinner at MK Restaurant.

Green tea
Ready to tuck in
Their signature dish - Roasted duck
Closer view

I forgot what is this dish. It really tasty and nice.
Then we had Ice cream at one of their fast food restaurant.
Ys was posting with the ice cream happily.
Vanilla Ice cream with Strawberry syrup
We went window shopping at Mabukong Shopping Center (MBK) and then bought a lot of tibits back to the hotel for supper later. Don't know why the tutu outside this shopping center was much expensive than the cab. So, we took cab back to hotel.
Pink & Blue Tutu
There was street market on the street back to hotel. We bought this sweet cone and tried. It was a steam sweet cone. They mixed the sweet cones and coconut with some sugar and salt. We only ate the yellow sweet cone and coconut as we didn't know whether the black one was editable.
Sweet cone with Coconut
Some of the tibits that we bought. A lot of drinks. The chakuza was like Jolly Sandy and their milk tea was awesome sweet and milky.
Loots of the day
That's all for day 1 of our Bangkok trip. Stay tuned for day 2. Really missed Bangkok.
Good night, everyone.
Love.

Me, myself and I

I just realized I started this blog back then without any proper introduction of myself. Most of the time, I was complaining, writing my "emo" thought, random posts, etc.

Here is the story of me, myself and I:
When I first came to Singapore, everyone thought that I'm Singaporean and I'm glad to hear that too. I came from another small country like Singapore and they also have $1 to $1 currency exchange. I was born in Brunei and grown up with my grandmother, parents and 3 little cute brothers. However, I'm holding Malaysia citizenship. When it came to self-introduction to anyone in any kind of events, people around would be confused about my origin. Why am I Malaysian but not Bruneian? Well, this is because I'm following my dad's nationality due to some policy. Are you confused now? Well, just remember I'm from Brunei as there is my hometown. I love this country as she is peaceful and stress-less place. I'm daughter of a baker/cake designer and a farmer/housewife.

When I first received my 'O' level result, I was sooooo disappointed in one of my subject. I couldn't get in Form 6 (Junior college in Singapore) but I did appeal for it. In the meanwhile, Republic Polytechnic came to my school for talk. I went and also attempted their entry test. It didn't stop there. My aunt whom is in Singapore told me that there are 5 polytechnics in total. Then my dad bought air ticket for me and flew me over for 1-2 weeks. It was my first time travel alone and pursued my study further. I received some priceless lessons from my aunt too. She taught me to be more independent and wanted me to handle my stuff on my own. I couldn't apply the rest of the polytechnics online because the application had already closed on the day I just gotten my results. Hence, my aunt asked me to appeal in. She helped me a lot on the appeal letter. After that, I had to submit it personally to all the admin office. Different polytechnic gave me different impressions. Singapore Polytechnic, I was lost for approximately an hour inside trying to find the admin office and way out. Even though with the map they provided and with a passerby's help. Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the slope!!!! Temasek Polytechnic, very cool school. Republic Polytechnic, a huge white box. Nanyang Polytechnic, when I came up from the escalator, my mind and heart told me,"I want to study here". All of them are unique and famous in some fields individually. After I had submitted everything, I went back to Brunei. I helped out in my relative's shop while praying for good news.

One day, my aunt called me and said,"Finally have some good news!" NYP accepted me!!!! I was so surprised and soooooo freaking happy inside and outside. It was a dream? Not it was not!!! I got into the school that my mind and heart told me. My dad bought me another ticket and came over here on 15 Mar 2008. And here was the start of another new chapter of my life.

First two months, I was staying at my aunt's house. Every time I would wait when there wasn't anyone at home and gave my mom a call. I missed my family so much and always ended up in tears. I wanted to hear my grandma's voice and only once. She said,"talk to me when you're back. I'm waiting for you. Do take of yourself....." And she started to cry. 16 years plus under their care and suddenly stepped out to a stranger place to live independently. It was really tough at first and slowly I had adapted to the environment. Made new friends and mostly Singaporean, speak like them, play like them, kiasu like them, take pictures like them and I'm proud of them. They are really awesome people. Love all of you, my lovely Singaporean friends.

Hopefully now you know who am I, me and myself, where I came from and why am I here.
See you all soon in next post.
Love

Supper with BFF

Super hungry! I was waiting for little turtle to come back home while chit chatting with my mom. I have another exam this weekend before proceed to the last term. I can't study at home. Why? Why? Why? Maybe I shouldn't on my laptop and should leave my phone elsewhere. No distraction!

She's back and we had supper at the prata shop nearby our house. Nom Nom Nom! Recently, I craved for ice milo but I can't drink this week but I still drink it upon her approval. Hehe! *pull ears first* But this time, the ice milo was not nice, it was diluted and not sweet. :( haha. So many "but". The prata was nice. I ordered Boom and plain prata and little turtle ordered Banana and plain prata. Full and satisfied.

Super long never camwhore with her. Here is the collage with different effects by camera360 apps. Love this apps. So many nice effects and....my phone memory space is full but I still can use this apps to store all the new photos. *thumbs up* I shall start clearing my photos after my exam and before the Taiwan trip. Die die must do! Do we look alike with all the expression? She said," top right is muacks but please don't kiss me face."

This cartoon effect looks very funny because I can't see my eyebrows at all. I'm eyebrowsless. Σ(・□・;)I tried to draw before but end up I looked like la pi xiao xin. Hahaha.
Shall end this post with this photo which I sent to ys when he is in cca camp. Haha. Eyebrowsless~~~

How to cook century eggs?

Yesterday, I was planning to cook century eggs congee for ys. I'm still a beginner here. I only know how to cook plain porridge with salted eggs, pickled lettuce and maybe additional vegetables. Hmm...I bought meat, century eggs, 豆苗(bean seedlings) and fish sauce. I thought there is garlic, salt and pepper in his kitchen but I couldn't find them. Oh no! So I shall just cooked plain congee instead and stir fried bean seedlings with meat. As for the century eggs, just hard boiled and cut?

Here come the point! How do all of you actually cook century eggs? Clean the outer layer of tea leaves and wash, then hard boiled them? Raise up your hand if you think the same as me. Actually, century eggs are ready to serve. All you need is to crack the eggs and peel off the eggs' shell. Tadah! You will see the nice black jelly look alike century eggs. How many of you think the same as me? Or you already know the actual way to prepare century eggs?

Before i found this. I was cleaning the outer layer and thinking how long should I hard boil them? But I doesn't really trust my instinct so, I went to Google. Then I saw this video. Luckily, I haven't started doing it and felt like I'm so sua gu (mountain tortoise). I learn new thing today. Century eggs no need to cook at all unlike other eggs like chicken eggs, salted eggs, etc.

Well, here is my first home cook plain dinner for him. Kinda plain. Really envy those who can cook well. Mummy, I shall start learning from you. Mr.ys, may you rate my cooking skills? Any improvement needed? How was the taste? Plain congee pass? Stir fried bean seedlings pass? Hehe. Must tell me the truth k? Get well soon. Love you. (^з^)-☆

After work, I met little turtle and her bf at Amk. Super long didn't see her already. She made a new spectacles. Omg! Super nice. Should I make one too? M y spectacles c.m.i already. Hmm...but kinda expensive for me. That's almost $400. *faint* While I was waiting for her, I was looking for tissues. She said she didn't have any. The salesperson gave me a box and also mineral waters too. Good customer services. Haha.
I bought ginger soup with glutinous balls from house of dessert at Amk market. Love their dessert. Yummy yummy~~~ I think when ys is back from Genting, he will knock my head because I went to order happy meal while I'm sick. >_< I can't eat too much so, I ordered happy meal. Happy Birthday, Mom

Today is my mom's birthday. Time really flies and I had left her side for 5+years. I guessed i had missed her birthday celebration for the 6th times. Finally, my mom decided to set up wireless for my brothers. Now, we don't need to call each other and only listen each other voices. We started to Face-Time and enjoyed our chat happily. YS bought this cake for tonight surprise. We face-time with my mom and YS brought in this cake with candle light followed by birthday song. Of course, she still need to blow the candle. Then she kept repeating the "blowing candle" action and said,"I blow I blow, but help me blow the fire off too." I have a cute and shy mom. She is the greatest woman in my life. I love you, mom. Hope to see you soon.

Suki-Ya at Tampines Mall

It's Friday again.
We had Popeyes for lunch at Airport. Since I came to Singapore, I become fan of Popeyes. The crispy skin, the tenderness and softness of the meat. Yummy~~~
Tonight we went out for dinner. So sorry that you guys have to wait for me as I still have works to finish. Pam suggested Suki-ya at Tampines Mall. It's nice but a bit expensive. Well, we enjoyed our dinner. After the steamboat buffet, we were like drunken walking on the street. Hmm...not all, some of us. Keep laughing non-stop. One of the joke is because of my action? I asked Hui whether need to refill the soup and he said okay. I raised my arm instantly after his okay and they saw it. They said I raised my arm straight up and shake left to right to left to right. Lastly, none of the waiter/waitress saw it. =_=
There are 7 of us and each of us spent $30 for this steamboat buffet. Thank you, Pam who want to save money for us. Those who has OCBC platinum credit card and OCBC Frank debit/credit can enjoy 10% discount. Normally for steamboat, we will be sitting together around a big table and a big steamboat pot in between. Unfortunately,  suki-ya doesn't. We have to sit separately in a combination of 2-2-3 and we have 3 steamboat pot. Best for couple date and small group up to 4 person. We eat steamboat is to bond and chit chat with each other. Well, we still enjoy our buffet at suki-ya. Apologized if we were too loud. (u_u) We went there around 8++. So, we only have 1 1/2h to eat. By the time we finished our steamboat, dessert time? No more ice cream and toppings. Only manage to get 3 small bowls of vanilla ice cream without any toppings. I shared table with Hui and Mei. There are 4 soup bases:- Shabu-Shabu, Suki-Yaki, Kimichu and Tonya-Miso. We can choose 2 soup bases. So, we have Suki-Yaki and Tonya-miso. Suki-Yaki soup is sweet. For the first mouth, it is sweet and follow by second mouth, it become sweeter. The more you drink, the more sweetness it is. It's sweetness stayed inside your throat. Tonya-miso will be more plain and simple. It tastes like the mee-sua soup or the chicken Maggie Mee soup. But it is nice. We prefer Tonya-miso soup. :)

Impatient me and Mei whom kept on putting all the food inside the pot. We were so hungry at the time and the soup was not boiling yet. Well, in the end, the Tonya Miso Soup(left) flowed to Suki-yaki soup(right). Hehe. Enjoyed a great dinner with all of them.
How about you guys? Did you enjoy your Friday this week?
